Applications for BRAVIA TV

Applications for BRAVIA TV

The TV can access a multitude of functions and services in the form of applications (or apps).

Many companies create apps for televisions such as games, movies, news, social networks and more.

Can I download applications?
The TV will have certain pre-installed applications; however, it may be possible to install new Google Play Store apps, depending on the model.

First of all, you need to check if you have an Android TV or a non-Android TV. Here is a guide to distinguish the two . Unfortunately, only Android TVs can download new applications. Other televisions have preinstalled applications, or applications that are added or removed from the system on the server.

Why aren’t the same applications as on my smartphone on my TV?
Although they have several elements in common, the Android operating system used for most mobile devices (such as smartphones or tablets) and the Android TV operating system are different.

Therefore, the compatibility of applications used on mobile devices is not always fully guaranteed even on Sony’s Android TV and vice versa. For this reason, only applications compatible with Android TV are available for search and installation from the Google Play Store via Android TV.

However, if you want to use some functions or services not available on the TV but available on the smartphone, try the solutions shown in this article: how to play content from your mobile device on your TV .

How can I watch other streaming services on TV when I don’t have access to the Google Play store?
If you don’t have access to the Google Play store, there are a few ways you can watch certain streaming applications on your TV. You can connect a laptop, streaming device or game console to the TV .

My apps have disappeared, or I can’t connect to a service
No need to worry. Depending on the situation; try the following procedure:

The service may have stopped

Sometimes applications are stopped or removed from the system. If an application is no longer present, go to the Sony Support website or the app developer website and check if an ad has appeared.

The service may be temporarily unavailable

If the application is not available, does not start or freezes, the following procedure is recommended.
